“Continuing to import banned products into the UK” is how Labour MP Dame Siobhain McDonagh described Alutech, a company that manufactures metal components for garage doors.
The MP is urging the tax authorities in the UK to pursue legal action against Alutech and other companies that may have received round fines.
Alutech chose not to respond to the claims.
Because Belarus has permitted the Russian army to utilize its territory to launch attacks into northern Ukraine, the UK has included Belarus in its sanctions against Russia.
However, members of the Treasury Select Committee have opened an investigation because they are worried that the sanctions regime is ineffective.
Dame Siobhain, a committee member, charged Alutech on Tuesday.
