Seven adjustments to pre-packaged wine sizes are scheduled to take effect on September 19, according to Business Minister Kevin Hollinrake.
He stated that the legislation will boost the “thriving” UK wine sector by offering chances for “innovation and greater choice” when he announced the date in the House of Commons.
Patrick Grady of the SNP, meanwhile, asserted that the government had to acknowledge that there is “nearly no demand or interest for this supposedly glorious Brexit benefit.”
Ministers praised the December announcement of the plan to adopt the 568ml wine size, which would complement the 200ml and 500ml measures now in place, as a Brexit.
