It leaves England with only three matches before their defence of the T20 World Cup begins on June 4.
The second T20 is on Saturday at Edgbaston, with T20s in Cardiff on Tuesday and The Oval on Thursday.
England will fly to Barbados on Friday, May 31, with no official warm-ups in the Caribbean before their opener against Scotland.
The washout comes after England’s players returned to the UK last week, having departed the Indian Premier League early to prepare for this series.
