ISLAMABAD: The Digital Nation Pakistan Act 2024, which ensures paperless administration and the digitization of the national economy, was primarily approved by the federal cabinet on Tuesday. It establishes the Pakistan Digital Authority and the National Digital Commission.
The law ministry was instructed to conduct the necessary review of the Act, which also intended to digitise the services sector in compliance with international norms, by the cabinet, which met under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The National Digital Commission, which would have members from both the federal and provincial levels and be led by the prime minister, would function as a policymaking body under the Act.
