England is in fourth place in the rankings thanks to two goals from Zachary Wallace and one from Sam Ward.
Tuesday’s game-winning goal against Germany came from Wallace, who was already on the scoreboard after three minutes when Sam Ward converted a penalty corner.
Alexander Hendrickx of Belgium created a tense finale by winning a penalty corner himself, but two minutes from time, Ward’s second goal gave GB the lead again.
But earlier in the day, Germany defeated Great Britain’s ladies 4-1, with Giselle Ansley’s penalty corner serving as little more than a late consolation.
They now sit seventh in the standings after suffering their ninth regular-season loss.
The men’s team of Great Britain will play Germany again on Friday at 15:30 BST, while the women’s team will play Belgium on Saturday at 15:30 BST.
