UMERKOT: This week, a horrifying new instance of animal abuse surfaced in Sindh when a camel was discovered dead in Kunri tehsil, its four legs removed.
The camel was ill, according to its owner Abdul Rashid, and had gone out to graze the previous day.
The proprietor told News, “[We] don’t want to accuse anyone,” but he was still looking for information.
I have forty or forty-five female camels. She was left alone by herself last night when they all went back to graze, he claimed.
“Whoever made her run, beat her, and chopped her legs is unknown to God. As of this now, we don’t know anything. We’ll investigate more. According to Abdul Rashid, he found out about the event this morning.
According to a senior police official, the post-mortem study showed that the camel had died of sickness 30 hours before its legs were removed.
The policeman also stated that there were no wounds or other indications of harm on the camel’s body.
It’s too soon to tell if this is another instance of animal abuse, but this is the second upsetting camel-related incident in a few weeks.
In Sanghar’s Mundh Jamrao neighborhood, a landlord and his workers are accused of physically torturing a camel that strayed into their field in search of food, amputating one of its legs as a form of punishment, just before Eid-ul-Adha on June 14.
