The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) chose two athletes for the Rio 2016 team and six for Tokyo 2020.
On August 28, the RPT squad will be the first to join the opening ceremony and compete under the IPC banner.
UN high commissioner for refugees Filippo Grandi remarked, “For a third consecutive Paralympics, a team of determined, inspirational refugee athletes will show the world just what they can achieve if given the chance.”

Guillaume Junior Atangana and his coach Donard Ndim Nyamjua (athletics), Salman Abbariki (athletics), Ibrahim Al Hussein (triathlon), Hadi Darvish (powerlifting), Sayed Amir Hossein Pour (table tennis), and Amelio Castro Grueso (fencing) are the ones who were chosen.
