In an update on the monsoon condition, Director General Mehr Sahibzad Khan of the Meteorological Department stated that more rain is anticipated this year than usual.
Khan emphasized that in the last 11 days, Pakistan has already had 8% more rain than normal.
According to Khan, Sindh has had a 62% decline in rainfall, while Punjab has seen a large increase in rainfall, with 59% more rain than typical. He gave his assurance that there is currently no emergency in the rivers despite the intense rainfall.
Khan declared, “The Chenab and Ravi rivers have enough water capacity to handle the current rainfall,” yet he did mention that there could be occasional flooding in the Chenab River.
