Sunday’s Muharram assembly in Dawoodi Bohra was addressed by the community’s leader, Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin. Among those in attendance were Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi.
The official delegation took part in today’s eighth Ashara Mubaraka sermon.
The distinguished Dawoodi Bohra masjid in Karachi’s Saddar was visited by the dignitaries and other high-ranking government officials. Syedna Saifuddin, his family, and the thousands of community members in attendance welcomed them with open arms.
The guests were given a brief explanation of the significance of the Ashara Mubaraka meetings by Syedna Saifuddin. He emphasized Imam Husain ibn Ali’s unwavering commitment to Islam, justice, and humanity—stands for which he and the Ahle Bayt gave their lives.
Syedna was inspired by a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), in which he said that “the most beloved of Allah is the one who benefits His family the most” and that “all of Creation is a single family dependent upon Allah.”
Additionally, Syedna clarified that since everything is a part of Creation, we ought to work toward the good of Creation as a whole, not just ourselves.
