Schools normally open at 8 a.m., but last week, despite the cold, the hour was moved to 8:30 a.m. in accordance with previous decisions.
However, the education administration has adjusted the timing once more when the temperature drops. The start of the school day is now at 9 a.m.
In a notification, the department stated that “all government and private educational institutions under the administrative control of the School Education and Literacy Department shall function from 9:00 a.m.”
The new schedule will be in effect through January 31. The announcement further stated that Karachi schools would continue to open at 8:30 a.m.
Temporary Prior to the conclusion of the winter break for schools, Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi had earlier in the day made a significant announcement.
On January 10, students will return to their academic institutions. However, they will not be attending school as normal at 8 a.m.
“Schools will resume on January 10, 2024, due to the ongoing winter wave,” the CM said in a statement on X.
“Schools will begin at 9:30 a.m. on January 10 and run until January 22. Wearing coats and thick clothing is very recommended,” the chief minister continued.
