US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome met with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari to discuss the impending elections.
Acting US Mission Spokesperson Thomas Montgomery said in a statement that the meeting was a component of the ambassador’s interactions with numerous political players in Pakistan.
“Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and US Ambassador Donald Blome met today to discuss current political issues, including the importance of free, fair, and inclusive elections,” the statement read.
According to the statement, they also spoke about the growth of the US-Pakistan “Green Alliance” framework and the strength of their commercial and investment ties.
The PPP claimed in a separate statement that there was a talk about promoting bilateral relations between Bilawal and the US envoy.
“They also discussed the promotion of trade relations between Pakistan and the United States,” said the statement.
After tremendous anticipation, the general elections are scheduled for February 8. Political parties are preparing by forming coalitions, hosting events, and enlisting candidates who have large support bases.
