LAHORE: Due to a decline in her health, prominent PTI leader Dr. Yasmin Rashid has been sent to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital in Punjab’s capital, sources said News on Monday.
The lawyer for Rashid, who is being held in the Kot Lakhpat Jail on judicial remand, stated that the court has repeatedly given written directives and requested that the authorities make sure she receives prompt medical attention.
Advocate Rana Mudassar, however, claimed to News that her health declined as a result of not receiving prompt medical care.
Mudassar continued, saying that after her cancer-related testing, the situation would be evident.
Geo News was informed by sources at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital that Rashid, the former health minister of Punjab, has been admitted to the hospital for particular tests.”She’ll go through a number of exams. She is having difficulty breathing as well. Her next check-up will happen at a government hospital, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.
The 72-year-old PTI leader had previously become ill; in May, she fainted and was taken to Services Hospital in Lahore.
Yasmin has been imprisoned for more than a year on various counts pertaining to the widespread demonstrations and riots that broke out on May 9, 2023, after PTI founder Imran Khan was arrested.
