ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is requesting to know who the “masked men” are that are reportedly responsible for removing its legislators from Parliament House premises on Monday. The government has promised to act only if the opposition party can provide evidence to support its claims.
Following their Islamabad protest on Sunday, at least nine members of the imprisoned former prime minister Imran Khan’s party were placed under physical detention under the new Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Bill, 2024, which pertains to public gatherings.
Many complaints were brought against PTI leaders, including the one involving the alleged attack on the police at Chongi No. 26, which became the scene of a confrontation between PTI members and law enforcement (LEAs) after the formers diverted the paths that led to Sangjani. In response to a query about the explosive speeches given at the party’s Sunday power show, PTI lawmaker Ali Muhammad Khan spoke on the news program “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath.” He recalled that the PML-N President had launched a broadside against his party and establishment following his removal from office in 2017.
