Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s assent led to the official appointment of Lieutenant General Muhammad Ali as Pakistan’s next defense secretary.
The three-star general’s appointment, which will remain in effect for two years and three months until his retirement, has been confirmed by a notification from the Establishment Division.
On October 1, Lieutenant General Ali is scheduled to start his new position, which he will hold until December 31, 2026. It is anticipated that throughout his term, his vast military experience and background will be extremely important in determining the defense policies of the nation.
Presently, Lt Gen. Ali is employed at the Pakistan Army’s GHQ in Rawalpindi as the quartermaster general. Additionally, he has been awarded the esteemed Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
