During an exchange of fire between their accomplices and law enforcement on Thursday, two terrorists—including the accused architect of the attack on the Dasu hydropower project—were killed.
The incident happened close to Samundri Road in Sahiwal, according to the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). Five terrorists, including the main perpetrator of the Dasu attack, were being moved from Sahiwal Jail when a security threat warning was raised.
During the transport, the terrorists’ allies attacked in an attempt to free the detainees. But the CTD moved quickly, sparking a gunfight that claimed the lives of two terrorists—Mustafa Hussain and Ayaz—who were recognized as important players in the assault.
