ISLAMABAD: Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar stated that the notification for the new chief justice of Pakistan could be sent out one or two days before the current top judge, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, retires, as the coalition government increased its efforts to reach an agreement on the proposed judicial package.
“Insha Allah, the notification will be sent out. In an interview with journalists in Islamabad, Tarar stated, “The deadline [for notification] for the Ministry of Law is October 25.”
“The location of the oath-taking ceremony [for the new CJP] will be announced by the government on October 24,” he continued.
He also mentioned that the new CJP gets notified one or two days prior to the current one’s retirement.
