According to ARY News, the Sindh government has introduced a new grading scheme for matriculation and intermediate pupils that replaces the traditional numbering system with a grades-based system.
This approach, which is scheduled to go into force in 2025, attempts to provide a more thorough assessment of student achievement.
The new grading scheme, created by the Inter-Board Coordination Committee (IBCC), assigns grades according to scores; categories include “Exceptional” for scores of 95% and above and “Unsatisfactory” for scores of 40% or lower.
By doing away with the conventional first, second, and third positions, the policy focuses on a more complex evaluation of students’ talents.
