Kill Bill’s four-hour running length was initially intended by filmmaker Quentin Tarantino to be seen in theaters.
The film was divided into two volumes, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, by the film’s production company, Miramax. Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, the full uncut version, is now scheduled to return to theaters.
Lionsgate is distributing the film, which will be available in 70mm and 35mm film prints and include a brand-new 7.5-minute animated segment.
“I wrote and directed it as one movie—and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie,” the director said in a statement.
