First Lady Melania Trump called for calm and national unity Tuesday. This comes after the fatal shootings of two civilians by federal agents in Minneapolis.
Advocating Peaceful Protests
Mrs. Trump stressed the importance of peaceful demonstrations.
“We need to unify. My husband, the president, had a productive call yesterday with Governor Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey. They are working together to keep things peaceful and prevent riots,” she said.
She added, “I’m against violence. If you protest, do so peacefully.”
Offering Support During Winter Storms
Mrs. Trump also spoke about the massive winter storm hitting several states. Heavy snow, ice, and power outages affected many Americans.
“I feel deep compassion for those impacted by this storm. The federal government is working to provide assistance. As Americans, we need to help each other during these difficult times,” she said.
She added, “I send them my strength and love and I am thinking of them.”
Promoting Her Upcoming Film, MELANIA
The First Lady also shared details about her upcoming movie, MELANIA. The 104-minute film covers her life before President Trump’s inauguration. It includes her time in Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago, and behind-the-scenes access inside the White House.
“This story has never been told before. Audiences will see me manage my business, philanthropy, family preparations for the inauguration, and set up the East Wing — all in 20 days,” she said.
Over the weekend, Mrs. Trump hosted a star-studded White House screening ahead of the film’s global release on Friday.
