ISLAMABAD According to sources on Tuesday, the Ministry of Interior has started geofencing Afghan refugee camps in Islamabad and other cities as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepares for a “do-or-die” demonstration on November 24.
News was informed by informed sources that the ministry was considering blocking the SIM cards of criminals participating in the demonstration and canceling their passports and identity cards.
A plan to revoke academic credentials and deny admission to students who participate in sustaining violence during protests was also reportedly considered, according to sources.
In order to combat possible terrorist threats, the interior ministry has started monitoring suspicious areas and has given the security services instructions to get ready completely before the PTI demonstration.
Additionally, the ministry has made the decision to punish individuals responsible severely.
