Since the Expo Center is hosting the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) 2024, the Karachi Police cautioned that the area around it was “more vulnerable” and issued a “threat alert” on Thursday.
According to a letter sent on Thursday by the deputy superintendent of police to the auxiliary inspector general of police, “HIA may carry out any terrorist activity by using food pandas and courier riders.”
Tuesday marked the opening of the 12th IDEAS 2024 at the Karachi Expo Centre. The celebration would continue till tomorrow, Friday. Along with a large number of trade visitors, the mega-regional exposition has attracted over 350 high-level delegations from 55 nations.
