Reza Pahlavi Calls for Humanitarian Intervention
Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has urged President Donald Trump to take stronger action against Iran’s ruling clerical regime as protests and violence intensify across the country.
In a recent interview, Pahlavi called for humanitarian intervention and immediate international steps to weaken the leadership under the ayatollah. His appeal came after Trump suggested that regime change in Iran could bring positive change.
Proposed Measures to Weaken the Regime
Pahlavi outlined several actions he believes the United States and its allies should consider. First, he urged efforts to neutralize the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a key power center within Iran. He also called for cracking down on so called ghost tankers that secretly move sanctioned oil and generate revenue for the regime.
In addition, he recommended freezing assets belonging to powerful elites and holding Iranian diplomats accountable for alleged misconduct abroad. He also stressed the importance of providing internet access to protesters and demanding the unconditional release of political prisoners.
According to Pahlavi, these measures would increase pressure on the ruling authorities while demonstrating clear support for the Iranian people.
Mounting Casualties and Arrests
Pahlavi described a worsening crisis inside Iran. He claimed security forces killed at least 36,000 people during the first days of unrest, though independent verification remains difficult. He also said authorities have arrested at least 40,000 people.
Furthermore, he reported that more than 330,000 individuals suffered injuries during clashes. He added that many people have disappeared, and full figures may not yet be known.
Positioning for a Transitional Role
Pahlavi has presented himself as a potential transitional leader if the current system collapses. He said he wants to unite secular democratic opposition groups and guide the country toward a transparent political process under international observation.
Ultimately, he said, the Iranian people should decide their future through a democratic vote.
At the same time, he praised large demonstrations held in cities around the world during a Global Day of Action. He described the rallies as a powerful display of unity and solidarity among Iranians abroad and their supporters.
