Disney’s eagerly awaited film of the year is Moana 2, and critics think the animated flick is a fantastic hit.
Rotten Tomatoes gave the original film a 95% rating, but the sequel received a 70% rating.
The animation in the movie was hailed by critics as “stellar” and “gorgeously colorful,” featuring “some of the most vivid animated water put to film.”
They did, however, critique the plot as being weaker than in the original and the brief time spent on screen with Maui and Moana.
According to the Chicago Sun Times, “Moana 2 is a vibrant and endearing high-seas story with a fantastic percussion score and a wealth of catchy original songs, lovely messaging about honoring ancestral traditions and the benefits of community and teamwork.
