A 40-Minute Live Chat Exposes Shocking Propositions
French internet users watched a live sting operation unfold as an online vigilante posed as a 14-year-old girl. The target, a former teacher named Dominique B, made explicit advances during a 40-minute conversation. More than 40,000 people viewed the interaction live, with replays reaching nearly one million views.
Dominique B suggested meeting the fake teenager at the Parc des Princes football stadium in Paris. He asked if she would kiss him. He inquired whether she had ever shared nude photos with friends. Then he offered to show himself naked. When a reminder stated that “she” was only 14, the ex-teacher dismissed the concern. He claimed many girls “younger than that have already made love.”
Viewers Alert Authorities Before Suspect Surrenders
Several viewers recognized Dominique B from the broadcast. They quickly reported him to Pharos, France’s official online whistleblowing platform. However, before authorities could act, Dominique B walked into a local police station on his own.
The state prosecutor in Vesoul confirmed charges against him. These include making sexual advances toward a minor under 15 and soliciting pornographic images of a child. Dominique B previously held an official role with the National Union of School Sports (UNSS). His arrest has since raised serious questions about vigilante tactics online.
Vigilante Justice or Public Service? The Ethics Debate
The man behind the sting, an influencer known as FINNYZYY, defends his actions. He states his goal is “to raise the alert… so that people understand how serious is the problem of child sex abuse.”
However, not everyone agrees with his methods. Lawyer and commentator Mourad Battikh told BFMTV that he finds the influencer’s approach “very worrying.” Battikh asks a key question: “Is he really aiming to work with police, or does he just want to create a buzz?” He argues that a genuine good citizen would take the video to police instead of posting it online for millions to see.
A Nation Debates Online Entrapment Ethics
The case has ignited a broader conversation across France. While many applaud exposing a potential predator, others fear the rise of unregulated online justice. The question remains: does public exposure help protect children, or does it risk damaging legal procedures and encouraging mob justice?
For now, Dominique B remains in custody as the legal system prepares to address the charges against him.
