The United Kingdom received twenty British nationals, one German resident of the UK, and one Japanese passenger after they were flown to Manchester Airport on a chartered aircraft.
Health officials transferred the group to Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside for close observation. Medical staff will monitor them for seventy two hours with regular testing.
After hospital monitoring, they will continue isolation at home for a further forty two days.
Strict Safety Measures During Travel
The UK Health Security Agency ensured strict infection control procedures during the flight. Officials confirmed that none of the passengers showed symptoms on arrival.
Public Health Minister Sharon Hodgson stated that health teams are closely monitoring the group as a precaution. She added that the risk to the public remains very low due to early detection and controlled isolation measures.
Cruise Passenger Tracking and Global Follow Up
A total of thirty one British nationals were onboard the cruise, including passengers and crew members. Some left the ship before the first confirmed hantavirus case was reported on the fourth of May.
Health authorities across multiple countries continue to track passengers who returned home. Many are under observation or testing as part of international containment efforts.
Public Health Measures Across Countries

International health agencies continue to coordinate updates as new test results come in. Officials aim to prevent further spread through strict monitoring and travel related precautions.
