Boston Buzz Before the Move
Scotland supporters created a strong presence in Boston during the early part of their World Cup journey. The city felt like a mini Scotland, with fans filling bars, landmarks, and public spaces. The atmosphere stayed lively and concentrated, making their impact easy to notice across the city.
Arrival in Miami Heatwave
The scene changed quickly after the move to Miami. Fans arrived in large numbers ahead of Wednesday’s group stage match against Brazil. The weather turned into a major challenge, with temperatures close to 35 degrees and a heat index making it feel around 43 degrees.
Supporters described the shift as intense. Many struggled with the heat while adjusting to a busier and more spread out city layout compared to Boston.
A Different Football Atmosphere
Miami offers a very different experience for travelling fans. Instead of one concentrated fan zone, Scotland supporters are spread across beaches, bars, and hotels. Popular spots like Ocean Drive have become meeting points, while others explore boat trips along the coastline.
The city already has a strong Latin American football culture. Brazilian and Argentine fans are also present in large numbers, which creates a more mixed and competitive fan environment.
Fans Share Mixed Reactions
Supporters have noticed the contrast between the two cities. Some describe Boston as more surprised by the influx of Scottish fans, while Miami feels more used to international crowds and major sporting events.
Peter and Tom McKenna, two brothers from the Isle of Man, shared their experience after spending time in both cities. They said Boston felt more like a single large gathering, while Miami feels more open and less concentrated.
One of them is planning to return home after the match, while the other is considering extending the trip depending on Scotland’s progress.
New Fans Begin Their Journey
Other supporters, including father and son Pete and Jamie Brown, have just arrived in Miami. They are only starting their World Cup experience and are preparing for the next stage of matches in very different conditions.
