Authorities told News on Monday that the body of a German ambassador had been found by Islamabad Police in his flat in the Diplomatic Enclave.
Thomas Fielder, the Second Secretary of the German Embassy in Islamabad, has been named as the deceased.
Police officials say Fielder’s death was located when German Embassy employees broke into his apartment and discovered him unconscious after he had been absent from work for two days.
The body was sent to the hospital for a post-mortem examination after the embassy promptly notified the local authorities.
The reason of death is yet unknown and will be established after the autopsy results, according to the police. According to preliminary inquiries, the diplomat had previously experienced a mild heart attack, which might have played a role.
