QUETTA: The Levies forces in three districts of Balochistan, Quetta, Gwadar, and Lasbela, have been formally merged with the police, The News reported. The decision was finalised during a meeting presided over by Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan. Government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed the completion of the merger, stressing that it is expected to enhance the province’s ability to maintain law and order effectively. The director general of the Levies in Balochistan had sent a letter to the additional chief secretary of Home Department, recommending the merger of Levies Quetta with Quetta police, Gwadar Levies with Gwadar police and Lasbela Levies with Lasbela and Hub police.
