Senior lawyer and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senator Hamid Khan declared on Monday that the legal community would continue the “protest movement” by contesting the Judicial Commission of Pakistan’s (JCP) nominations of six justices to the Supreme Court.
The senior lawyer stated on the news program “Aaj Khan Kay Sath” that “the appointment has no legitimacy as two senior judges and the opposition lawmakers walked out of the meeting…they [newly nominated SC judges] would have to go.”
Hours after the judicial panel nominated six high court justices to the Supreme Court, he made his comments. Six judges were nominated, including the chief justices of all high courts save the Lahore High Court (LHC).
