The military’s media wing reported on Friday that security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bannu District had conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) that resulted in the deaths of at least six terrorists and the injuries of four more.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that “security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Bannu district on night 23/24 April 2025 on the reported presence of Khwarij.”
The security forces successfully occupied the terrorists’ location during the operation, and after a fierce gunfight, six militants were shot dead.
According to the statement, Pakistan’s security services were committed to eliminating the threat of terrorism from the nation, thus a sanitization operation was carried out to get rid of any other terrorists that could have been present.
