Aizaz Chaudhry, the former foreign secretary, has stated that in order to avoid the “war drama” that reoccurs in New Delhi every two years, any future negotiations with India must be subject to stringent preconditions.
Speaking on News’ “Pakistan” morning show, Chaudhry emphasized the necessity of written assurances to prevent similar provocations from happening again.
He added that India had frequently heightened tensions for political ends, especially under the Modi administration, which he claimed was stoking antipathy among Indians. “We must be firm that this biennial drama by India comes to an end,” he said.
This time, Pakistan had been significantly provoked, Chaudhry said, claiming that India had not only crossed the border with drones but also started a disinformation effort to suggest that Pakistan had fired missiles first.
