The baseball organization said in a social media post that “ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots” and were denied entry.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers have increased their raids in several locations, including Los Angeles, in an effort to identify unlawful migrants.
The presence of ICE officials at the stadium was disputed. Other personnel were at the stadium parking lot “very briefly,” according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is in charge of ICE and other agencies.
On Thursday morning, dozens of federal agents showed up close to one of the stadium’s main gates. Local media said that a number of demonstrators appeared shortly after.
ICE said, “False,” in response to the news outlet’s question on whether its agents were present at the site.
