The Football Association of Singapore announced that the air war between Israel and Iran has forced the postponement of the women’s Asian Cup qualifications that were originally set for next week in Jordan.
In the preliminary stages for the 2026 finals, which will take place in Australia in March of next year, the Singaporean squad was supposed to go to Amman to play Jordan in addition to Iran, Lebanon, and Bhutan.
“The Asian Football Confederation announced the postponement of all Group A matches, which will cause the Lionesses’ AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 qualifying campaign to start later than planned,” the association stated in a statement.
The AFC justified the modification by pointing to the region’s current state of affairs and logistical issues brought up by a number of Participating Member Associations.
