Following four days of military drills with neighboring Pakistan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that his nation will retaliate forcefully to what he refers to as a future “terrorist attack.”
“This is not an era of war, but this is also not an era of terror,” Modi declared in his first speech in front of an audience since days of fierce shelling and aircraft attacks by both sides started.
These came after a 26-person insurgent attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, which India attributed to a group based in Pakistan. Islamabad has vehemently denied supporting the aforementioned outfit.
The ceasefire that the nuclear-armed neighbors agreed upon over the weekend, mediated by the United States, seems to be holding up so far.
