Six-year-old Ismail Abu Odeh battled his way to the front as masses gathered at a food distribution location in northern Gaza.
With a shout, “Give me some,”
The lentils in his dish were knocked out of his hands as he was walking back. Weeping, he went back to his family’s tent.
Ismail later received some food from an uncle who had been able to obtain some.
He lives in a school-based displacement camp in Gaza City, and the next day, no food or water delivery reached the camp, leaving the individuals assembled there with empty bowls and bottles. Ismail sobbed once again.
