ISLAMABAD Reliable sources confirmed on Friday that a group of Pakistani doctors and businessmen from the United States, who are currently in Pakistan in a renewed attempt to meet with Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and other important officials, have returned to Lahore after four days in Islamabad without making any progress.
Arriving in Pakistan last week, the delegation had wanted to meet with the imprisoned former prime minister at Adiala Jail and conduct discreet diplomacy to discuss ways to help Khan in the face of his ongoing political and legal issues. But thus far, they have not been successful in their endeavors.
The group is expected to stay longer in Pakistan, despite its original plan to return to the United States on Saturday (today), according to reports.
