Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated on Saturday that Pakistan is deeply concerned about the startling increase in Islamophobic occurrences throughout India.
“Pakistan calls upon the Government of India to uphold the rights and safety of all its citizens, regardless of faith,” a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stated in response to questions from the media over the rise in incidences of Islamophobia in India.
“The targeting of Muslims through hate speech, discriminatory actions, and state complicity is a matter of serious concern for the international community,” a spokeswoman stated.
Hindu radicals in India have increased their targeting of Muslim minority in the wake of the horrific Pahalgam massacre, which killed at least 26 tourists.
