The unofficial results from all 185 polling stations showed that Fakhir Nishat Ghumman, Warraich’s opponent and the candidate supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, was still in second place with 40,037 votes.
The Sambrial by-election for the provincial assembly seat PP-52 was held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Poll workers yelled slogans and argued throughout the day, causing pandemonium throughout the polling process. There were also claims of rigging.
