KARACHI: After Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan admitted that India lost multiple fighter jets in its most recent military conflict with Pakistan, a political uproar broke out in the nation.
The Congress Party promptly denounced the disclosure, demanding for an urgent special session of parliament to address what it called a serious breach of national accountability and public confidence and accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government of “misleading the nation.”
Leading the campaign was Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who wrote a scathing commentary on X (previously Twitter) that read: “There are some very important questions which need to be asked in the wake of the remarks made by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) in Singapore in an interview.”
