ISLAMABAD: Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is trying again to end the impasse between Imran Khan, the founding chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and the establishment, but so far, his efforts have not been successful.
Gandapur received praise for the PTI’s support of Pakistan and its defense forces against India, but neither promises of political relief nor a softer stance toward Imran were obtained despite speaking with a key figure about the party’s role during the most recent Pak-India war.
According to sources, Gandapur tried to utilize the PTI’s patriotic credentials as a bridge during the Pak-India war, but the strategy failed since Imran, the party’s social media, and its followers outside continued to attack the senior military command.
