Pakistan is prepared for but not anxious for talks with India, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. He emphasized the necessity for a thorough conversation that covers terrorism as well as other important topics like the Indus Waters Treaty.
Dar stated during a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday that any effort by India to redirect or obstruct Pakistan’s water supply would be considered an act of war. He emphasized that international law prohibits the suspension or amendment of the Indus Waters Treaty.
In reaction to the attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which New Delhi attributed to Islamabad, India unilaterally stated that it will suspend the treaty among other actions.
