Following an Air India tragedy that claimed 270 lives this week, India’s aviation regulator has ordered all Boeing 787s operated by regional carriers to undergo inspections. The aviation minister stated on Saturday that officials were looking into all potential reasons.
Air India’s Boeing 787-8/9 aircraft with GEnx engines are subject to additional maintenance checks, including evaluations of certain take-off parameters, electronic engine control tests, and engine fuel-related checks, as mandated by the aviation regulator on Friday.
Additionally, we have authorized the expanded surveillance of the 787 aircraft. “Our Indian fleet has 34,” said Ram Mohan Naidu, the minister of aviation, during a press conference in New Delhi.
