After Israel extended its surprise blitz against its primary adversary with an attack on the largest gas field in the world, Israel and Iran launched new attacks on one another late on Saturday, escalating concerns of a wider battle.
While Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed the bombings were insignificant in comparison to what Iran will witness in the days ahead, Tehran canceled nuclear talks that Washington had stated were the sole means of stopping Israel’s bombing.
The Israeli military reported on Saturday that it was attempting to intercept further missiles that Iran had launched in Israel’s direction. It also claimed to be hitting Tehrani military sites. Iran deployed drones and missiles toward Israel, according to Iranian official television.
