RAWALPINDI: According to his sister Noreen Niazi, the former prime minister said on Tuesday that Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has decided to delay his planned statewide action for two weeks because of the recent international events surrounding the Iran-Israel dispute.
Speaking to reporters outside Central Jail Adiala, Noreen Niazi stated that Imran has chosen to postpone the protest movement due to the current state of affairs around the world.
Since his removal from office in April 2022 due to the opposition’s no-trust motion, the 71-year-old cricket player-turned-politician has been imprisoned since August 2023 after being charged with several offenses ranging from terrorism to corruption.
