According to rescuers and medical professionals, Israeli gunfire and strikes throughout Gaza on Wednesday killed at least 33 Palestinians, including 11 who were seeking aid.
Israeli forces “opened fire and launched several shells” at thousands of Palestinians waiting in line for much-needed food supplies on the main Salah al-Din Road, according to a spokesman for the Hamas-run civil defense organization.
Although it was not aware of any injuries, the Israeli military said troops in the Nuseirat area fired warning shots overnight after a group approached them in a way that could have constituted a threat.
The civil defense organization said three Israeli airstrikes in northern and southern Gaza killed 19 more persons.
