Police have convicted a Chinese PhD student who was identified as “one of the most prolific predators” in the UK to life in prison with a minimum of 24 years.
Between September 2019 and May 2023, Zhenhao Zou, a Chinese national, drugged and sexually assaulted three women in London and seven more in China.
Prosecutors claim that three of the ten victims have been identified, but officers with the Metropolitan Police suspect that he may have targeted dozens more and asked for contact from possible victims. Twenty-four women have come forward since the trial.
Judge Rosina Cottage KC stated during sentence that the offender was a “very bright young man” who concealed his sexual predatory tendencies behind a deceptive “charming mask.”
