Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail of the Supreme Court stated on Friday that there had been cases where politicians had failed to follow the court’s decision.
Salman Akram Raja, a renowned lawyer and leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), brought up the Asghar Khan issue when the Supreme Court judge made these comments during the hearing of the reserved seat case.
Raja claimed to have been in the same court as former Army Staff Chief Mirza Aslam Beg and former Air Force Chief Asghar Khan.
“They both admitted to meddling in the elections throughout their testimony. [However,] it was said that it was done in the light of the national interest,” the lawyer said.
