SWAT/PESHAWAR: Rescue 1122 reports that the number of fatalities from the terrible Swat River event increased to 11 on Saturday with the recovery of a second child’s body.
To find the two people who are still missing, search efforts are currently in progress. During yesterday’s early response, four persons were saved.
During a picnic along the riverbank in Swat, 17 members of a Sialkot family were sucked into an unexpected surge of water flow. Several people were washed away despite rescuers’ best efforts, which prompted a massive operation.
Khwazakhela, Kabal Bypass, and Barikot are all experiencing simultaneous search and rescue operations, which have been on for more than 24 hours, according to Director General Rescue 1122.
