KARACHI: Following press coverage of the incident, the interior ministry intervened to grant an exit permit after a young Tunisian woman attempted suicide in Lyari after being divorced by her Pakistani husband, according to local police.
Muhammad Amir from Khadda Market, Lyari, and Senda Ayari, a 19-year-old Tunisian, became friends on social media.
They get married when their friendship blossomed into love. On November 28, 2024, Senda traveled to Karachi on a Pakistani visa in order to wed Amir.
The couple had a happy life at first. But in recent months, there have been small arguments, which ultimately resulted in Amir divorcing her.
