Former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari engaged in a heated political debate on social media following a diplomatic breakthrough on the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
A Supplemental Award from the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague, which confirmed Pakistan’s stance that India cannot unilaterally stop the IWT, was formally welcomed by Pakistan on Friday.
The arbitration court’s decision affirmed that India’s unilateral acts could not compromise the neutral expert’s or the arbitration court’s authority in IWT proceedings.
Reiterating that India’s unilateral move to terminate the decades-old treaty was not recognized by international law, Bilawal responded to the development on X.
